What is Baustoffliste ÖA and ÖE?
The two Austrian Construction Products Lists set legally binding requirements and application rules for construction products to ensure that the relevant products may be used in Austria. Their abbreviations stand for “Europe” (ÖE) and “Austria” (ÖA). Both lists are developed in collaboration with the technical construction experts of the federal states at the Austrian Institute of Construction Engineering (OIB) and are published as regulations.
Important to know: The lists do not include specific products from individual manufacturers.
Baustoffliste ÖA
- It serves to define regulations of use for construction products for which no harmonized standard is yet available and which therefore do not require CE marking.
- Construction products that belong to a product group of the Baustoffliste ÖA require the ÜA marking for use in Austria, unless they bear a voluntary CE marking based on a European Technical Assessment (ETA).
Which construction products are affected?
Not all construction products are included in either of the two Construction Products Lists; only those for which application rules have been established due to their market significance and safety relevance are listed. For all other products, the requirements of building law and the OIB guidelines must always be observed. This results in specific requirements for the construction product used in each particular construction project.
