Application for a Bautechnische Zulassung / Technical Approval for Construction (BTZ)
For construction products for which there is no harmonized standard or no ETA, or which deviate from a harmonized standard or from the national set of rules specified in the Baustoffliste ÖA, manufacturers can apply to the Austrian Institute of Construction Engineering (OIB) for a Technical Approval for Construction (BTZ). A BTZ is required in any case if this is specified in the Building Materials List ÖA.
The application form must be completed in full and the signed declaration must be submitted to the OIB.

Application for the issuance of a
European Technical Assessment (ETA)
Since 1 July 2013, a European Technical Assessment (ETA) can be issued for construction products that are not covered or not fully covered by a harmonised standard. However, this is not considered an “approval”, but serves to enable the manufacturer to draw up a declaration of performance and affix the CE marking to the construction product.
Applications for the issuance of an ETA can be submitted to any Technical Assessment Body(TAB) in Europe. In Austria, the OIB is the only Technical Assessment Body.
Here you will find the application forms for issuing an ETA in German and English:
