No. No. 15.2 Products/materials in contact with drinking water Can it be assumed that pressure reducing valves according to data sheets with DVGW (and therefore also ÖGVW) approval for drinking water supply do not also have to bear the installation mark? (According to the manufacturer, the product has been developed, tested and marketed in accordance with a harmonized standard and is subject to continuous monitoring).

The building materials list ÖA includes in the product group no. 15.2.4 “Building valves” the valves according to ÖNORM EN 736-1, section 5. Section 5 includes safety valves in point 5.5. Pressure reducing valves are to be understood as such and therefore require an installation mark. The ÜA mark is an official mark of usability and must therefore be distinguished from quality marks, such as that of the ÖVGW. Harmonized standards in the regime of the Construction Products Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 do not currently deal with the proof of suitability for drinking water, but only with the mechanical product characteristics.
