European Technical Assessment (ETA)

Key to the European market

Basis for sale in the domestic market

If a construction product is not or only partially covered by a harmonized European standard, the European Technical Assessment (ETA) offers economic operators the opportunity to nevertheless place construction products on the market throughout Europe. It is a tailor-made proof of performance with which the producer obtains a CE marking and which makes it possible to offer construction products with legal certainty throughout the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland and Turkey.

International reach

With an ETA (the abbreviation is derived from the English “European Technical Assessment”), construction products receive the basis for CE marking. This not only opens up access to European markets, but often also facilitates market entry in other regions around the world. At the same time, however, use in the various countries also requires a comparison between the product performance and the respective national regulations for use. The ETA creates a solid basis for this coordination.
