Market surveillance
As part of annual market surveillance programs, the market surveillance authority systematically checks certain product groups. The product groups are defined together with experts from the state governments.
Reactive market surveillance
The market surveillance authority investigates information, complaints and notifications about incorrectly labeled, non-compliant or dangerous construction products on an ad hoc basis. Reactive market surveillance covers all construction products. Information can be communicated to the market surveillance authority by any person by telephone, in person, in writing or by e-mail.
The market surveillance authority at the Austrian Institute of Construction Engineering was established on the basis of an “Agreement pursuant to Article 15a B-VG on the market surveillance of construction products” concluded by the Austrian federal states.
