Reactive Market Surveillance

As needed, the market surveillance authorities follow up on information, complaints and reports about construction products that are incorrectly labelled, that don’t conform with current regulations or that present a danger. The reactive market surveillance covers all construction products. The market surveillance authority can be notified by anyone by phone, in person, in writing or by email.

The market surveillance authority in the Austrian Institute of Construction Engineering was established on the basis of an agreement concluded by the Austrian federal states in accordance with Article 15a B-VG (Federal Constitution Act) concerning the market surveillance of construction products. As of November 2016, the Austrian Institute of Construction Engineering is the market surveillance authority for construction products in the following federal states:

• Carinthia
• Lower Austria
• Upper Austria
• Styria
• Vorarlberg
• Vienna
• Salzburg
• Tyrol
• Burgenland
