European Technical Assessments

Since 1 July 2013, a European Technical Assessment can be issued for construction products that are either not or not fully covered by a harmonised standard. However, rather than constituting an “approval”, this assessment allows the manufacturer to create a declaration of performance and to provide the construction product with the CE marking.

Applications for the issuance of a European Technical Assessment can be made to any Technical Assessment Body (TAB) in Europe. In Austria, this is the Austrian Institute of Construction Engineering (OIB). Application forms are available for download on this website.
